The annual American Addy Awards hosted the 2018 magazine cover contest. The theme was based on the creative process as an artist. I wanted to convey the messy grungy process you see with people who paint or draw. This usually consists of listening to music, various sketches, paint splatter, and then the idea. I used the drawing of Las Vegas as a background to bring the whole process together.
